How do I know if Marist has job openings?

We post all of our job openings on http://jobs.marist.edu. To see our job openings, click on the "Search Postings" link found on the left hand side of the Marist Job site at http://jobs.marist.edu. All of our current postings will be listed. You may also narrow down your search criteria by using the drop down options to search by department, job title, job classification or posting number. Once you have chosen the criteria, click on the Search button and a new list of openings will populate.

How do I apply for a job at Marist?

We only accept applications for current position openings through our on line Marist Job site at http://jobs.marist.edu

If I don't have a computer, how can I apply for positions at Marist?

Computers are available at most public libraries. If a reasonable accommodation is needed in applying for a position, please call 845-575-3349 to set up an appointment. Our operating hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

Who can I contact if I need an accommodation for special assistance in completing my application?

If you are a person with a disability and require assistance with the employment process, please contact The Office of Human Resources at 845-575-3349, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Do I need an email address to apply for positions at Marist?

Yes. An email address is required, as an email address is used for the user name. If you do not have an email address, you can create one for free through providers such as Google or Yahoo.

I forgot my password. How do I reset my password?

Go to the login screen at https://jobs.marist.edu/login.php and click on the "Forgot password?" link underneath the Login button. You will need to enter your email address (username) and spam security Captcha code. Once submitted, an email message with the subject line "Lost password request" will be sent to the email address associated with your user account. In the body of the email, you will be asked to click on the "confirm" link embedded in the email. You will then receive a second email with a temporary password. Log into your account with your username and temporary password, and you will be prompted to change the password to one of your choice.

I have a new email address. Can I change my email address (username)?

Yes, you can change your username to your new email address by logging into your user account at http://jobs.marist.edu. Once logged in, click on the "Account settings" link on the left hand side of the web page. Then click on the link "email address (username)" to change your username to one of your choice.

I would like to change my password to something more memorable. How can I do so?

Log into your user account at http://jobs.marist.edu. Once logged in, click on the "Account settings" link on the left hand side of the web page. Then click on the link "current password" to change your password to one of your choice.

How will I know if my online application was submitted successfully?

You will receive an immediate confirmation message and number on the Marist Job Site once you have completed the online application process. The confirmation message and number will also be emailed to you for your records.

I began applying online, but did not have an opportunity to finish the application process. Can I go back to finish my application later?

Yes, as the long as the position is still open and accepting applications. Only complete applications submitted before the posting is closed will be considered by the hiring department. To finish an application, log into your user account at http://jobs.marist.edu. Once logged in, click on the "Your applications" link on the left hand side of the web page. Under the "Applications to Complete," click on the "Complete Application" button associated with the job title you wish to apply for. You will be directed to complete your application from there.

Can I change one of my application documents after I have submitted a successful application online?

Yes. Log into your user account at http://jobs.marist.edu. Once logged in, click on the "Your applications" link on the left hand side of the web page. Under the "Completed Applications" section, there will be a "View/Edit Application" button associated with the job you applied to. You will be directed to your application, where you can navigate to the end of the application form where the attachments can be changed. After uploading the attachment(s) you wish to change, make sure you click on the "Save button" to ensure that the edited document(s) was added.

I have a change in my contact information. Can I change my contact information on my online application after I submitted a successful application online?

Yes, you can make an edit on your application form if you have a new phone number, address, etc. Log into your user account at http://jobs.marist.edu. Once logged in, click on the "Your applications" link on the left hand side of the web page. Under the "Completed Applications" section, there will be a "View/Edit Application" button associated with the job you applied to. You will be directed to your application, where you can make changes to the "Personal Information" section of the application form. After making the changes, make sure you click on the "Save button" at the end of the application form to ensure that the edit(s) has been saved.

What happens after I submit my application for a position?

You will receive an email with your confirmation number after you have successfully applied to an open position. Your application and qualifications will be reviewed by the hiring department for the minimum qualifications and the preferred skills and experience for the position. The hiring department will contact an applicant directly if they are interested in arranging an interview. Following the interviews, the hiring department will select the most suitable candidate for the position.

How are individuals selected for interviews?

The hiring department determines which applicant they are interested in interviewing for an open position. If the hiring department is interested in interviewing an applicant for a position, they will contact the applicant directly by phone or email.

How do I know if a job at Marist is still open to new applicants?

Any position that appears on the Marist Job site is still accepting applications. You may also check the status of positions you have applied for by logging into your user account and clicking on the "Your Applications" link on the left hand site of the web page.

How long does a position remain open?

A position will generally remain open until the position is filled. If there is a closing date on the posting, the date will be visible on the posting.

How will I know if a position has been filled or closed?

If a position is no longer on the Marist Job website, the position has either been filled or closed to new applicants. The best indicator is to log into your user account at http://jobs.marist.edu and click on the "Your Applications" link on the left hand side of the web page. Under the Completed Applications section there is a "Status" column, which will have the word "Filled" underneath it if we have made a hire for the position.

How do I check the status of my application?

Log into your user account at http://jobs.marist.edu and click on the "Your Applications" link on the left hand side of the web page. Under the Completed Applications section there is a "Status" column that will indicate whether the position you applied for is "In process" or "Filled."

When can I expect to hear about the status of my application?

The time line is at the discretion of the hiring department. The hiring department reviews the applications and if the hiring department is interested in speaking with you regarding the position, they will contact you directly. You can monitor the status of your application online by logging into your user account and clicking on the "Your applications" link on the left hand side of the web page.

Who can I talk directly to about a job I have applied for?

The hiring department will contact you directly if they are interested in speaking with you about a position you applied for. We regret that due to the volume of applicants Marist receives, we are unable to respond to each candidate individually regarding the status of their application.
