Brief Summary:

Marist College invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean of the School of Computer Science & Mathematics. This key administrator will serve as the school’s external connection to the business community, building partnerships to advance programs within the school.  The Assistant Dean also serves as the Director of the Institute for Data Center Professionals, an online educational program for workforce professionals across the globe and the coordinator of the Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish connections with employers across the globe to market the Institute for Data Center Professional’s (IDCP) online educational programs including data center technologies, enterprise computing and cybersecurity.
  • Collaborate with admissions, the registrar and student financial services to administer the enrollment for a non-traditional student population.
  • Serve as the advisor for the students and the support person for the faculty in the IDCP program.
  • Manage a dedicated website for the IDCP program and create marketing materials for distribution in a variety of media platforms.
  • Generate reports to track revenue and ROI on marketing/outreach efforts.
  • Run WebEx presentations for new students to orient them to the online course management system (Sakai).
  • Attend and exhibit at national conferences for data center and/or enterprise computing professionals.
  • Develop new educational programs addressing ever changing industry needs.
  • Principal organizer for a regional business plan competition requiring:
  • o    Development and maintenance of a dedicated website
    o    Outreach to faculty across the 7-county region
    o    Coordination of periodic educational/informational seminars for prospective student entrepreneurs across the region
    o    Outreach to potential sponsors and judges to support the competition
    o    Event planning- securing the location, developing the schedule, ordering food, etc.
  • Collaborate with school faculty and staff on various grant related activities including the activities associated with running an annual Enterprise Computing Community Conference.
  • Assist school faculty and administrators with activities associated with the Center of Excellence in Cloud Computing and Analytics: securing contracts with companies, developing statements of work and managing budgets.
  • Serve as a liaison to the School of Computer Science and Mathematics Board of Advisors.
  • Work directly with the dean of the school on other projects as directed
 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have an earned Master’s degree in information systems, integrated marketing, business/management or related field. Corporate and/or industry experience a plus, as well as demonstrated ability to work with many constituencies. Strong organizational skills, problem-solving, and strong oral and written communication skills are required.  Demonstrated experience with marketing and business development.  Comfortable in a technical environment. Some exposure to online course management tools a plus. Candidate must be able to travel periodically for various conferences or outreach events.
