Brief Summary:

The Athletics Department at Marist College invites applications for the part-time position of Assistant Football Coach.  The Marist College Football Program is a NCAA Division I Program and member of the Pioneer Football League (PFL).  This position will assist the head coach in organizing, directing, recruiting and administration of the football program in compliance with the rules and regulations of NCAA, Marist College and PFL.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administrative functions in the day to day operation of the football program
  • Assist in all phases of coaching intercollegiate football, i.e. thorough knowledge of game coaching strategies and player development, concentrating on coaching and monitoring of the skill positions.
  • Recruitment of quality student-athletes
  • Strength and conditioning program; practice and game organization
  • General and academic counseling needs of players
  • Organization and supervision of summer camps
  • Involvement in alumni relations and community resources
  • Assist the head coach in performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, with 1-3 years of successful college level coaching and recruiting experience preferred.  Candidate must possess technical knowledge of football and the demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge to coaching offensive skill positions.  Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required along with excellent oral and written communication skills.  Certification in CPR, first aid and AED will be required prior to completion of probation period.
