Brief Summary:

The Department of Communication at Marist College invites applications for Part-Time Adjunct Faculty positions. We are looking for instructors to teach public relations courses, including public relations fundamentals, public relations writing, and applied research and analytics. At the undergraduate level, there are more than 800 communication majors across five concentrations, making it one of the largest and most dynamic departments on campus. In addition, there are about 150 students in our online graduate programs in, 1) integrated marketing communication, and 2) in communication with a focus on organizational communication and leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

For applicants with advertising experience, we are looking for instructors to teach principles of advertising, writing for advertising, media planning, advertising research, and other courses that are part of the advertising curriculum. For applicants with public relations experience we are looking for instructors to teach introduction to public relations, PR writing tools, PR case studies, reputation and relationship management, and other courses as part of the public relations curriculum.


Ph.D. or Master’s in communication or relevant field with extensive professional experience in communications or related field desired. Ideal candidates will have prior college teaching experience.
