Brief Summary:

The Liberty Partnerships Program is a New York State initiative comprised of approximately 50 programs across the State that link colleges and universities with secondary schools in order to provide comprehensive stay-in-school programming to at-risk youth.  The Marist College Liberty Partnerships Program seeks a full-time Site Coordinator to join the program to plan, implement and supervise stay-in-school programming for middle and high school students. Reporting to the Director for Liberty Partnerships Program, the Site Coordinator works closely with middle and high school teachers, staff and administrators; parents and families; community partners; Marist staff; and supervises Marist interns and students.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and supervise the program in assigned schools
  • Coordinate student recruitment and retention efforts
  • Assess needs and develop corresponding interventions for each student
  • Develop Personal Learning Plans with students and monitor their progress
  • Provide one-on-one counseling or group counseling as needed to students and families
  • Develop and implement curriculum for social and emotional development/intervention with students
  • Implement activities to help students meet academic and social standards
  • Implement assessments that measure progress towards academic and social standards
  • Be accountable for students’ academic and socioemotional progress
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Engage families in their children’s education
  • Develop and implement workshops to educate families, staff, and/or students on relevant issues
  • Share responsibility for planning and implementing Marist LPP-wide activities and initiatives
  • Attend and participate in events outside of normal school hours (e.g., family meetings, student performances, field trips, report card nights, teacher-parent conferences, etc.)
  • Supervise Marist interns and tutors
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and other compliance activities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor


Bachelor's in Education/Counseling/Social Work/Psychology is required; Master's degree preferred. Must have 1-3 years of experience working with underrepresented youth. Valid driver's license with no serious convictions required.
