Brief Summary:

Responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of the next generation of leadership annual donors to the College. Develops and sustains strong relationships with Marist alumni, parents, and friends and secures philanthropic support for key institutional priorities.  As the College begins its next comprehensive fundraising campaign, this position will be required to contribute significantly to the development of a pipeline of new gifts in support of the fundraising goals of the College.  This position will cultivate and solicit donors capable of making gifts up to $5,000 to the Marist Fund and other institutional fundraising priorities; with a focus on donor acquisition and giving upgrades.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct personal visits with alumni, parents, and friends with a focus on promising graduates of the last decade.
  • Solicit and secure gifts up to $5,000 for the Marist Fund and other institutional fundraising priorities with specific goals for acquiring first time donors and advancing existing annual donors to higher giving levels.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Marist Fund team to achieve annual giving goals.
  • Support and advance special giving initiatives such as annual giving challenges and concentrated periods of giving.
  • Actively support reunion fundraising efforts.
  • Support Advancement, Alumni and Special events and activities throughout the year.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned in a safe and responsible manner.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising or related experience required; experience in higher education strongly preferred. Demonstrated working knowledge of industry best practices for annual giving.  Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a high-performing team are essential.  Ability and commitment to travel and attend evening and weekend events as required. Travel required primarily in the tri-state area and New York City.
