Brief Summary:

Marist College invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean of the School of Computer Science & Mathematics. This key administrator will hold a faculty title in the School of Computer Science & Mathematics. The Assistant Dean will work with a highly competent faculty and staff to provide support to the Dean in seeking academic grants and industry funding, increasing student enrollment and services, and building partnerships to advance programs within the school. The school has had great success in obtaining both Federal (NSF) and State Grants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This individual will play a key role in in the entire grant process, including determining which grants to apply for, development and writing of the grant, and grant and budget management after the funding is received.  Additional responsibilities include teaching within the school, budget administration, student advisement, and program marketing.


The successful candidate will have an earned master’s degree, Ph.D. preferred, in computer science, information systems, or information technology. Corporate and/or industrial experience a plus, as well as classroom teaching experience, a demonstrated ability to work with many constituencies, individuals and groups, strong organizational skills, problem-solving, and strong oral and written communication skills.
