Brief Summary:

The School of Computer Science and Mathematics has an immediate opening for a full-time faculty member at the rank of Professional Lecturer with administrative duties, reporting to the Assistant Dean of the School of Computer Science and Mathematics/ Director of the Institute for Data Center Professionals.  The Institute for Data Center Professionals (IDCP) and the School’s Department of Computing Technology currently offers a comprehensive curriculum covering z/OS technologies.  The IDCP offers on line courses that culminate in a variety of non-credit certificates for system and/or application programmers. In addition, the Department of Computing Technology offers the system programming courses as part of a minor in Enterprise Computing for traditional undergraduate students. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

This Professional Lecturer position will provide administrative support for the program, with primary responsibilities for the coordination, administration and development of these certificate programs, as well as additional on line and on campus teaching responsibilities within the Department.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Master’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Evidence of excellence in teaching and technical expertise in z/OS technologies is required along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Technical skills should include:
-    z Systems hardware and operating systems (z/OS, z/VM, Linux)
-    z/OS major subsystems such as JES, CICS, Websphere Application Server, Websphere MQ, DB2, and IMS
-    Software Development and familiarity with key mainframe languages such as z Systems Assembler, COBOL, and JAVA
-    On line teaching techniques and tools
Industry experience is highly desirable.
